New Student Orientation 2009

Online Orientation Registration Begins April 2, 2009!

Every year the College of Charleston welcomes 2000 new students to campus, 200 of whom have been accepted into the Honors College. Over the summer our new students attend an Orientation session that helps prepare them for life at the College. There are 10 Orientation sessions to choose from, however, we strongly encourage students who are accepted into the Honors College, to choose from the sessions highlighted in red.

  2. June 18-19
  3. June 22-23
  4. June 25-26

  8. July 16-17
  9. July 20-21
  10. August 20-21*

* This session is limited to students who live 650 miles or more away from Charleston, SC.

Sessions 1, 3, 5, 6, and 10 are designated as Honors Orientations.
These sessions are also open to other students who are not in the Honors College, but during these sessions we host special informational meetings for Honors students and their parents and the Honors Students Association facilitates an event for Honors students. All of the Honors staff and advisors will be present to assist you with selecting and registering for your courses.

If you cannot attend one of these sessions you will still have an opportunity to attend an Honors College information session, meet with an Honors advisor, and register for your courses; however, we will not hold any special events for Honors students and there will be fewer Honors College staff available to assist you.

Students are not able to register for fall classes until they have attended an Orientation session.

You can register for Orientation through Cougar Trail beginning April 2nd.  Orientations are filled on a first come first serve basis, so please sign up early! If the session you prefer is closed, you may contact the Office of New Student Programs to be put on a waiting list for that session.

More information about Orientation can be found on the website for the Office of New Student Programs.
