Transfer Students

If you are currently a student at another college or university, follow these steps to ensure a complete application:

1. Complete the College of Charleston Undergraduate Admissions Application, using the online system. Applying to the College online allows you to access the separate Honors College Application online. On the regular application you will check the box indicating that you want to apply to the Honors College.

2. Complete the Honors College application. Once you've submitted the Undergraduate Admissions Application online and checked the box indicating you want to apply to the Honors College you will receive a link to the Honors College application. The user name and password will be the same as what was used for the regular application. If you prefer to complete a paper application, you can print the PDF version and mail it to the Honors College: Honors College Application for Transfer Students.

3. Mail your official college transcript, Resume, and Two Letters of Recommendation with cover pages to the Honors College. If you have sent pieces required for your Honors application (H.S. transcript, etc.) to the Office of Admissions we can usually obtain these materials for your Honors College application without requesting a duplicate copy.

A complete Honors College Application for a Transfer Student includes:

• Application
• Writing Sample – In lieu of the traditional essay, please submit a writing sample that was completed at your current institution.
• Two Letters of Recommendation with the Honors College Recommendation Form - one of the letters must be from a college professor
• An official transcript from your current institution reflecting grades from the current semester

Once your application is complete it will be reviewed by the Honors Committee. You can expect a letter in the mail indicating your Honors College admission decision.
