How to Apply

Students can apply to the Honors College after they have completed the regular undergraduate application for the College of Charleston online.

Students are encouraged to apply to the Honors College online by checking the box on the general application indicating that they would like to apply to Honors. Once the general application is submitted electronically, a link will appear that connects to the Honors College online application.

If a student does not indicate on the general application that they would like to apply to the Honors College, they will not be able to apply online, however, we will accept a paper version of our application. The Honors College application is available as a PDF on our website. Students should download the appropriate application: high school senior, current CofC student, or transfer student and mail the paper application to the Honors College.

Students must be accepted to the College of Charleston before they can be accepted into the Honors College. While there is no absolute deadline for applying to the Honors College, we encourage students to submit our application and all supporting materials to the Honors College by December 1 to maximize the possibility of being accepted and to be considered for scholarships.

Facts about Honors College Applications

• Approximately 200 students enroll each year from a pool of more than
  900 applicants.
• Successful candidates are in the top 6% of their class, have taken Honors, AP or IB courses, and are active in extracurricular and leadership activities.
• 1340 is the average SAT score for entering freshmen.
• 30 is the average ACT score for entering freshmen.
