High School Seniors

If you are currently a High School Senior, follow these steps to ensure a complete application:

1. Complete the College of Charleston Undergraduate Admissions Application, using the online system. Applying to the College online allows you to access the separate Honors College Application online. On the regular application you will check the box indicating that you want to apply to the Honors College.

2. Complete the Honors College application. Once you've submitted the Undergraduate Admissions Application online and checked the box indicating you want to apply to the Honors College you will receive a link to the Honors College application. The user name and password will be the same as what was used for the regular application. If you prefer to complete a paper application, you can print the PDF version and mail it to the Honors College: Honors College Application for High School Seniors.

3. Mail your H.S. transcript, H.S. Resume, and Two Letters of Recommendation with cover pages to the Honors College. The Honors College will obtain your test scores from the Office of Admissions. If you have sent other pieces of your Honors application (H.S. transcript, etc.) to the Office of Admissions we can usually obtain these materials for your Honors College application without requesting a duplicate copy.

A complete Honors College Application for a High School Senior includes:

• Application
• Essay
• H.S. Transcript
• SAT and/or ACT scores
• Two Letters of Recommendation from teachers with the
  Honors College Recommendation Form

While there is NO DEADLINE FOR THE HONORS APPLICATION we encourage you to submit your materials by December 1st to maximize your chances of being accepted.

Notes About the Honors College Application Process

• You cannot check your Honors College application status online. If you are uncertain about the status of your application, please contact the Honors College 843.953.7154.

• Beginning in September, the Honors College will e-mail periodic reminders to applicants who are missing pieces of their application.

• Once your application is complete it will be reviewed by the Honors Committee. You can expect a letter in the mail indicating your Honors College admission decision. Letters are mailed beginning in late November and continue through the spring and summer semesters.

• You will receive information via regular mail about scholarships and housing in February and information regarding Freshman Orientation starting in late May.
