Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community

Honors ELLC Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community College of Charleston

The Honors E-LLC is a group of students from a variety of majors who share a common passion for innovation and want to actively bring their ideas to fruition. Throughout the year these students are given the opportunity to engage in a number of high-impact experiential learning opportunities aimed at inspiring innovation and acknowledging the entrepreneurial mindset. The Honors E-LLC is housed on the first floor of Berry along with a brand new kitchen and 24-hour idea lab with write on walls. Pictures of the Honors E-LLC can be found on the CofC Honors Flickr.

Program Requirements

If you choose to participate in the Honors E-LLC, along with living on the first floor of Berry, you will also be part of the Honors Entrepreneurship Advising Cohort and will be enrolled in the Honors Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice class (HONS 205) in the fall. Part of your Honors First-Year Experience involves taking an additional Honors course, and HONS 205 fulfills this requirement. For more about the Honors E-LLC check out our Honors E-LLC Student Profile

The Honors College also works closely with the Interdisciplinary Center for Applied Technology (ICAT) program to recruit a class of exceptional students from various academic disciplines with an interest in technology and entrepreneurship.  Funded in part by the Department of Commerce and housed in the School of Business, the ICAT Accelerator challenges teams of three students from various disciplines- one from business, one from computer science and one from the arts and humanities- to create a globally scalable tech start-up. Honors students have the opportunity to enter into the social entrepreneurship program and are given prirotity consideration for the ICAT Accelerator. In addition to the Accelerator, ICAT also allows students to travel locally (ICAT-Academy) and internationally (ICAT-Global) to explore the tech scene. To see pictures from their trip to Silicon Valley, check out our CofC Honors Flickr.
