Learn more.

Per federal, state, and local orders and recommendations, the College of Charleston has implemented a modified schedule in order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and protect our greater community. Given the directives, all campus events, including admissions events, in-person information sessions, and campus tours have been canceled through May 15th.

For the time being, we encourage you to do the following to learn more:

  1. Check out the Virtual Visitor Center
  2. Watch our Honors College Information Session
  3. Schedule a Virtual Meeting with an Honors College admissions representative or an Honors Student Ambassador. To schedule a meeting, email us at for more details
  4. Check your emails often and follow @cofchonors and @cofcadmissions on Instagram for updates
Ready to commit? Take the next steps to become a CofC Cougar!
  1. Pay your enrollment deposit ($400) by May 1. There is no separate deposit or step to enroll in CofC Honors.
  2. If you plan to live on campus, submit the $50 application fee and complete your housing application (opens in March) by May 1.
  3. Sign up for a Summer Orientation Session beginning mid-March. You will receive orientation information from New Student Programs once your deposit has been paid, but be sure to save the dates for the Honors-preferred sessions below!

All fees and applications may be accessed through MyCharleston. More detailed instructions are available on the Office of Admissions' website.

More information on your next steps as an admitted Honors College student are available here.

Honors Living-Learning Community

Without fail, when discussing their time in Honors, current students and graduates agree that being a part of the Honors Living-Learning Community is one of the best decisions you can make! The Honors Living-Learning Community is housed in Joe E. Berry Residence Hall. Berry is a co-ed residence, with suite-style accommodations, large common kitchen areas, and reserved community spaces for Honors students. For more information about the benefits of the Honors Living-Learning Community, visit our check out information and virtual tours on our website.

  • Priority placement in Honors Housing is given based on the enrollment deposit and housing application date—the earlier they are completed, the better chance you have of receiving your first-choice assignment.
  • If you wish to live in the Honors residence hall, you should not request a non-Honors roommate; if you do, you may be placed in non-Honors housing with the non-Honors student.
  • To network with other students admitted to CofC Honors, use the CofC Honors Class of 2024 Facebook group or GroupMe.
Save the Date: Honors-Preferred Orientation Sessions 2020

To ensure that you are effectively mentored and registered for Fall classes, the College of Charleston has set aside spaces at five of the Summer Orientation Sessions to accommodate incoming Honors students. For a smooth transition to your undergraduate career, we strongly recommend you attend one of the following sessions:

Session 1: June 15 and 16
Session 2: June 18 and 19
Session 3: June 22 and 23
Session 4: June 29 and 30
Session 5: July 8 and 9

These are the only dates when all of the Honors College faculty fellows will be available for advising. In addition, we have organized several important information sessions for both you and your parents that will only be available at the orientation sessions listed above. If none of the Honors Orientation Session dates work for you, or if you plan to attend Session 10, let us know by May 1. Orientation registration begins in mid-March on MyCharleston for students who have paid their enrollment deposit. Sessions fill quickly, so don’t delay in claiming your spot in the CofC Honors community!
