Per federal, state, and local orders and recommendations, the College of Charleston has implemented a modified schedule in order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and protect our greater community. Given the directives, all campus events, including admissions events, in-person information sessions, and campus tours have been canceled through May 15th.

Honors Living-Learning Community

Without fail, when discussing their time in Honors, current students and graduates agree that being a part of the Honors Living-Learning Community is one of the best decisions you can make! The Honors Living-Learning Community is housed in Joe E. Berry Residence Hall. Berry is a co-ed residence, with suite-style accommodations, large common kitchen areas, and reserved community spaces for Honors students. For more information about the benefits of the Honors Living-Learning Community, visit our check out information and virtual tours on our website.

  • Priority placement in Honors Housing is given based on the enrollment deposit and housing application date—the earlier they are completed, the better chance you have of receiving your first-choice assignment.
  • To network with other students admitted to CofC Honors, use the CofC Honors Class of 2024 Facebook group or GroupMe.
Honors-Preferred Orientation Sessions 2020

Updated from the Office of New Student Programs on 4/15/2020: At this point in time, we have made the difficult decision that it is in the best interest of our incoming students/family members, faculty, and staff to not conduct our orientation sessions on June 15-16, 18-19, 22-23, 29-30, or July 8-9. If you are currently registered for one of these sessions, your assigned orientation date is currently on hold.  Once we announce new orientation options, we will contact you regarding your reassigned date.  If you are not available during your reassignment, we will be happy to assist you in switching to a different session.

To ensure that you are effectively mentored and registered for Fall classes, the College of Charleston has set aside spaces at select Summer Orientation Sessions to accommodate incoming Honors students. For a smooth transition to your undergraduate career, we strongly recommend you attend one of the following sessions:

Session 6: July 13 and 14
Session 7: July 16 and 17
Session 8: July 20 and 21

These are the only dates when all of the Honors College faculty fellows will be available for advising. In addition, we have organized several important information sessions for both you and your parents that will only be available at the orientation sessions listed above. If none of the Honors Orientation Session dates work for you, or if you plan to attend Session 10, let us know by June 1st. Orientation registration is available in MyCharleston for students who have paid their enrollment deposit. Sessions fill quickly, so don’t delay in claiming your spot in the CofC Honors community!
